As I walked in, the aroma of freshly made tortillas and spicy salsas enveloped me, igniting my appetite instantly. The menu boasts an impressive selection, but the tacos truly steal the show. Customers rave about the enormous size and perfect seasoning of the tacos, with fresh tortillas that elevate the experience. One diner exclaimed, "These tacos are literally the best around!" That kind of praise is hard to ignore, and I couldn't wait to dive in myself.
Meanwhile, if you're searching for comfort food, the tamales and pozole come highly recommended, with one customer describing the tamales as "bomb" and the pozole as "fire." It's clear that the chefs at Carrillo's take pride in delivering flavorful, hearty meals. For those who prefer lighter fare, the brunch options stand out as well, particularly the eggs Benedict, which has been noted for its exquisite presentation and taste.

Carrillo’s Mexican Deli combines the best of traditional Mexican flavors with warm, friendly service, making it a standout dining destination in Canoga Park. I can’t wait to return and savor their costillas in red sauce—a dish that has garnered significant praise and is said to be finger-licking good. If you haven’t visited yet, make sure to stop by—you won't be disappointed!

Been having an issue with third party deliveries (Doordarshan, grubhub) would always get my costillas sauce dripping out of the plate. Call the restaurant and said, they always advice them to handle with care but drivers didn't care. Call the restaurant again if they can put everything separately and they did. I appreciated their customer service will keep ordering until I get bored. Prices are very reasonable and food quality is always on point. (Get the costillas in red sauce!... Finger licking)

The brunch here is fantastic! I had the eggs Benedict and my friend had pancakes. Both dishes were delicious and beautifully plated. The coffee was strong and smooth — a perfect start to the day.

Have eaten here a few times now, and I must share that the tacos here are literally the best around. Fresh tortillas, meat is perfectly seasoned, the green salsa is mouth watering, and the tacos are HUGE. I order five tacos every time and I'm always so full afterwards. I will definitely be back for more tacos! Also, the tamales here are bomb and the pozole is fire too

CARILLO'S SAVED CHRISTMAS. This Christmas eve, my uncle and I realized we forgot the tamales which have become a tradition in our family every Christmas eve. We set off to find some, but around 5:00 on Christmas eve the odds weren't looking great. Our go to is the Carillo's in San Fernando, but they had already closed for the holiday. Coming from Sunland we called around and this was the only place to pick up. Even though they were closing we told them we were coming from 40 minutes away and they waited! We got there as quickly as possible and they even unlocked the door for us when we told them we were the ones that called. We picked up 20 tamales 10 chicken, 10 pork, and 2 quarts of salsa. We got back home and the tamales were hot and tasty as ever. So so grateful for the amazing service even on such an important night of the year, thanks to Carillo's our Christmas tradition was saved. Carillo's family and staff we will never forget this, a true Christmas miracle. Thank you.

Went here for lunch and it was so good! We got nachos, a beef tamale, and the chicken flauta plate. Everything was hot, fresh, and delicious! They do not skimp on portion sizing either.

Carrilo’s is the standard for Mexican food in the valley. Everything is good tasting and freshly prepared. Tamales are especially tasty.

I used to go there frequently on Tuesdays and Thursdays for their great taco special. I would provide lunch to kindergartens and first graders. Same time normally Tuesdays and Thursdays. One particular time why I stopped going. I called early and placed my order with a very nice gentleman. I believe he was the owner. There's one lady that always works the front. I went in and there was a long line but I was okay because I placed my order ahead of time. As I got to the front the lady said there was no order placed. I told her the owner took my order. She went in the back to look. She said well we couldn't read his writing. It'll be 30 minutes. I explained to her this was a meal for children that were expecting it in 10 minutes. She basically disregarded what I had to say and still told me 30 minutes. I left and I was really upset at the fact that this was for children. And I was there all the time. I scrambled to get the children something else and took them a late lunch. I was very disappointed as I loved your guys's food. But haven't been back since then. Your food is really good and you have a wonderful menu.

I recently had takeout at Carillo’s Mexican Restaurant and savored their delightful Caldo de Res soup! The flavors were exquisite, and I highly recommend it. Just a heads up, there are new prices listed on the menu worth noting.
